About Italian Leather

Q.   How can I be assured your leather is really MADE IN ITALY? 
A.    We travel to Italy on a regular basis and visit firsthand our design houses that hand tailor their leather goods only in Italy. We do our due diligence to ensure each Bellezza Imports' Italian leather bag is completely made in Italy. All pieces come with a certificate of authenticity and are 100% guaranteed to be made in Italy. Read more about our Italian leather products.

Q.  How do you select your leather goods?
A.   We travel to Italy on a regular basis to meet with our design houses. There we select from the styles and colors being offered that season, and have our inventory made to order just for us.

Q. Why is your leather considered exclusive?
A.  Our design houses show new styles twice a year for the fall/winter and spring/summer seasons. We select and buy styles in limited quantities and have them custom made to order for us. When our inventory of a certain style or color is sold out we will most likely never get that style or color back again.

Q.  Why is Italian leather considered the best leather in the world?
A.   The Italian leather artisans have been working with leather for centuries. Leather making is considered an important part of the Italian culture much like wine making, and the Italians take their trade very seriously striving to be the world leaders in both leather design and construction. Most notably the Italians have perfected the tanning process, the process by which leather is given its texture and color, by using 100%natural vegetable extracts. These vegetable extracts provide deeper, richer colors that age perfectly over time and separate Italian leather from environmentally hazardous chemical tanning processes used in other countries to mass produce leather.

Q. Why is Italian Leather more expensive?
A.  A hide is not considered leather until it is tanned. Our Italian leather manufacturers still use the traditional natural vegetable tanning process. This process produces deeper, longer lasting leather and can take up to 40 times longer to complete. This is a natural process that leads to long lasting leathers that age perfectly over time. Non-Italian leather uses a cheaper chemical based tanning process that does not lead to a long leather life and is very harmful to the environment. Not only are the leathers used of higher quality, but the Italian leather artisans are highly paid professional designers that take great pride in their craft. Much like the Ferrari is to automobiles, Italian leathers are to bags.

Ordering

Q.  How do I place an order?
A.  You can place an order two ways. On-line, by placing your selection in your shopping cart and proceed to checkout and follow the instruction to complete your transaction.  The second method is calling our 800 number and placing the order with a customer service representative.  We are here from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central time Monday through Saturday. Q. What method of payment do you accept?
A.  Online we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Offline we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, money orders and checks.  If paying by check the item will ship when the check clears your bank, if paying with a money order the item will ship when the money order is received in the mail and deposited.

Product Information

Q. Do you have your entire inventory in stock?
A.  Yes, every piece you see on-line we carry as current inventory. However, we purchased in limited quantities so our inventory changes on a continual basis.  If you see a bag you like this week it could possibly be sold out next week and will not be returning.

Q. Can you fill special orders in larger quantities?
A. On all briefcases and accessories we can place any size of orders for corporate and special events such as weddings.

Q. What is the cost of special orders?
A.  Special pricing would include quantities of at least 8 or more items. The price would be quoted at the time of the inquiry along with your shipping cost. Please give us a call at 800 395 2818 to discuss any special orders with us.

Shipping

Q. What are the shipping costs?
A. BI offers free ground shipping to any physical address in the US.  You will be responsible for all expedited and air shipping costs.  To ship anywhere outside of the US, you will be responsible for all shipping, and custom costs. Read more about shipping terms.

Q. How long does it take to Ship?
A. All bags leave our inventory as soon as the payment is received. The time required to receive your package depends on shipping selection and location. The average delivery time is 3 to 5 business days. If a bag is on backorder, you will be notified and can expect shipping to take 14 to 21 business days. 

Q. What carrier do you use to ship?
A.  Our preferred carrier is UPS Ground for Free Shipping. For expedited shipping options you will be given your choice of carrier at checkout.

Q. Can I check the status of my order?
A. You will be notified via email when your package is shipped with the tracking number and an estimated delivery time. If you would like to track your package at any time log-on to our website, check My Account page and track shipment.

Q. What happens if the leather is damaged during shipping?
A. UPS is a very reliable and safe carrier. However, if you receive your package and the box appears to be damaged, we ask you to open the box with the deliveryman present. If the item is damaged we will work with UPS to resolve the problem and replace your order as soon as possible.

Returns and Exchanges

Q. What is your return policy?
A. You may return your bag UNUSED, with the dust cover and label intact within 30 days. You will be responsible for the return shipping. Please see our Return Policy Page.

Q. What carrier should I use?
A.  We recommend that you use a carrier that provides you with a tracking number and insurance or registered mail through the USPS.

Q. How much time does it take to get the refund?
A. We will issue you the refund once we have received and inspected the bag.

Q. Do you offer exchanges?
A. Yes, if the item is returned within 30 days UNUSED you may select a new style. 

Q. Can I return sale items or special orders?
A. No, we do not accept returns on our sale items or special orders. 

Privacy and Security

Q. Is it safe to use a credit card?
A. We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) providing an encrypted channel and server authentication, all such information is transmitted through a 128 bit secured server connection.  This is the safest way to do credit card transactions on-line.

Q. How will my information be used?
A. Bellezza does not sell, rent or lend personal information regarding its customers to any third party. All of your information is used only to give you a better shopping experience at Bellezza Imports.
